Ruff Riders Rescue Foster Care Program is crucial to the well being of the
animals that we have in our care. Foster care providers give our rescued
animals a temporary home until a permanent home is found, this can take
anywhere from a few days to a few months.
A foster home provides our animals with a safe, positive, and loving
environment where they can at last feel like a valued, family member. This
home experience gives our animals a chance to develop confidence and learn
house rules AND it provides Ruff Riders Rescue a better knowledge of their
personalities and their true nature---something difficult to determine
effectively when in a kennel environment.
We count on our foster homes to evaluate temperament and observe and
report behaviors to us regularly so we can assess the dog and update the
description on the web site.
The most important requirements for being a foster parent are time and attention. You must be
willing to include the dog in family activities, allow the dog to live as
a house pet with much human companionship, and provide some daily
one-on-one time with your rescue, including cuddles, play, and walks on
leash.
