FOSTER HOME AGREEMENT
You are an
extraordinary person. It’s easy to say you want to help, but by taking a
needy animal into your home, you are making a HUGE difference. Your
commitment to help gives your foster pet a chance to experience real home
life. A foster home provides our animals with a safe, positive, and loving
environment where they can at last feel like a valued, family member. This
home experience gives our animals a chance to develop confidence and learn
house rules AND it provides Ruff Riders Rescue a better knowledge of their
personalities and their true nature. Thank you!
-
Foster parent must
fill out our
adoption application so we can obtain appropriate
background information.
-
Ruff Riders Rescue provides
medical care for the foster pet through our rescue veterinary.
Expenditures other than emergency care and treatment must be
pre-approved by Ruff Riders Rescue.
-
Foster pet will not be left
off leash in an unfenced area at any time.
-
Foster parent will keep the
provided collar and tags on their foster pet at all times. Foster pet
will be kept indoors or in a fenced area on the grounds of the foster
home. The foster pet will sleep indoors.
-
The foster parent will take
proper care of the foster pet. Including providing pet with adequate
food, water, and shelter, and exercised appropriately. If medical
problems arise, foster parent will contact Ruff Riders Rescue
immediately. Except for emergency treatment, the foster parent will make
arrangements with Ruff Riders Rescue to get the foster dog to the rescue
veterinary clinic.
-
Foster puppies must not
visit public areas other than our adoption center and our veterinarian
unless they are over 4 months old and have had their 3 sets of
vaccinations. (This is because at this age they are very susceptible to
parvo and distemper so we try to limit their possible exposure). Puppies
may not visit dog parks or other highly trafficked pedestrian/dog
walkways.
-
Unless previously agreed
upon by a Ruff Riders Rescue representative, the foster parent will not
be compensated for expenses incurred in the normal daily care of the
animal (i.e., food, toys, grooming, etc.).
-
Ruff Riders Rescue is not
responsible for any unforeseen events and/or damages that may occur as a
result of fostering the pet. (i.e. things like soiled carpets, eaten
shoes, and chewed furniture.).
-
The foster pet remains the
property of Ruff Riders Rescue. The foster pet will be returned to Ruff
Riders Rescue immediately upon request.
-
The foster pet cannot be
transferred to another party or location without approval from Ruff
Riders Rescue.
-
The foster pet is to be
adopted to its permanent home only through the screening process and
standard adoption policy of Ruff Riders Rescue. The foster parent is
welcome to refer candidate adopters directly to Ruff Riders Rescue.
-
If the foster parent is
interested in adopting their foster pet, the standard adoption policies
apply; this includes completing an adoption contact as well as paying
the adoption fee.
